Hi all, it's jess.
In the past month, I've been more stressed out then I ever have been, and I am trying to deal with it by seeing my counseler, doing deep breathing exercises, and just relax, but its not working.
I was wondering if there were any other idea's out there.
Thanks
Jess, you can also relieve stress doing activities you like (i.e. singing, playing an instrument, weight-lifting, yoga, reading, or writing). When I'm under much stress, I like to write or play my harp. These things really help me unwind, think clearly, and relax.
Talking to someone also helps get your feelings out. The key is to not let all your problems and worries accumulate.
I try to relieve stress by praying, writing, singing or listening to uplifting music, talking to someone about whats stressing me.
i usually deal with stress by turning music up as loud as i can, singing at the top of my lungs. a nice long get everything out cry helps sometimes. playing with savannah and my dog helps too. no matter what is stressing me out, the unconditional love from the two of them warms my heart and makes it all seem so little and helps me work through stuff. sitting and doing nothing for an hour helps. reading, sewing, anything to preoccupy my mind so that i can think clearer and find ways to get through stuff.
I try to relieve stress in a variety of ways, i USUALLY THOUGH, LISTEN TO MUSIC, OR GO READ A GOOD BOOK.
ooops didnt realize caps was on! sorry.
Well, I'm all about the loud music thing. Just crank it up and get lost in it. I also try to get out of the house. Sometimes going for a walk, or calling on friends helps. Even if you can get away from your problem for an hour or 2, sometimes coming back to face it after that clears your mind, and helps you put things in a much clearer perspective.
Good luck Jess. But here's a warning to you. Things that stress you out, never go away. They just get bigger with age, and more that you take on. When you do things like move out on your own, and have rent and bills to pay, groceries and dog food to buy, job seeking, dealing with transit in rush hour, etc etc, you'll wish you only had the problems that you deal with now.
In short, enjoy being a teenager, as much as you can.

ok, so now that the computer here in the cnib client computer room has stopped being a turd, I will finish my comment..
I get stressed out a lot, and I have ADHD, which makes it even harder to get calmed down, I use my music, my computer and reading a good book mostly, but there are other ways that I have to be able to get myself calmed down, one for me is riding transit, the buses and the motion of the subway and the buses, streetcars, all calm me down after a while, but since having the boyfriend I do, He helps a lot to, as he can "break through" the static that that causes in my brain, he can pull me out of a freak out faster than even my Mum can, so that is a great help, as well as he likes to ride transit with me..
another way for me to break stress, is to take a hot shower or a long hot bath, or if possible, go for a long swim..
I hope this helps somebody..
Hey guys, thanks so much. I just had my counseling session today, and I talked to her about this, and I will try some of these things. Thanks all.
Jess
I get a massage. That helps me get rid of stress.
Hi, all. I use a variety of the things mentioned here when I am stressed. I journal quite a bit, since that helps organize my thoughts, and sometimes by doing that, I can put things into perspective. I read a lot, when my mind just needs to get away from everything for awhile. I listen to various kinds of music, depending on my mood at the time, and often sing with it, and sometimes even dance. Using the physical energy often helps with the emotional stuff. I pray, or meditate. And, I have a good network of friends who listen and are empathetic, and who can also make me laugh, even when I'm feeling down.
